In 1965, Gordon and Eula purchased the old Ashwood place and they have lived there for the last 41 years. During this time, Gordon worked for Dick Camp, Henry Steele and spent 15 years working at North Powder M&M Company. Gordon retired after the mill burned, but continued to cattle ranch on their place.

Carl Eugene Reedy
(Feb. 2, 1942 – Oct. 4, 2007)

Carl Eugene Reedy, 65, of Baker City, Ore., passed away Oct. 4, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Services in Baker City.
At his request, there will be no formal services. Friends were invited to join the family in sharing stories and memories at a celebration of Carl’s life at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Main Event.
Carl was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Mattoon, Ill., to George and Olive Maxine (Austin) Reedy. He was a longtime and dedicated employee of Ash Grove Cement, retiring around the year 2000.
He was a very good-hearted man, who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He often would himself go without to give to a child in need; he hated to see anyone suffer, especially children. Carl was also a heck of a stubborn man, but his kindness made it endearing.
He had a huge love and respect for the outdoors. Before his illness he was an avid hunter and fisherman. These skills he happily passed on to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the beauty of the mountains, the Snake River in the sun and all of nature.
He is survived by his wife, Cherly Lynn Reedy of Port Angeles, Wash.; 4 children, Diana Rector and her husband, Richard of Port Angeles, Wash., Donna Reedy of Port Angeles, Wash., James Reedy of Salem, Ore., and Eric Pinkston of Huntington, Ore.; 5 grandchildren, Toney Hussey and her husband, Joe of Texas, Richie Rector of Port Angeles, Wash., Michael Lunyou of Baker City, Ore., Chayna Rector of Port Angeles, Wash., and LeeDonna Reedy of Port Angeles, Wash.; sister, Carolyn Thom and her husband, Pat of Baker City.
