Bulldogs Post First Victory at Homecoming Game
There was a different feeling around Baker Bulldog Memorial Stadium last Friday evening. The difference showed right from the opening whistle as Bulldog running back Travis Mastrude received the kickoff and charged up field punishing several would-be La Grande defenders unfortunate enough to be in his path. It showed in better blocking by the Bulldog O-line, which led to better timing in the Bulldog offensive backfield, which led to more confidence by the entire ‘dog offense. It showed in the posture of the Bulldog defensive front four as they dominated the La Grande offensive line helping hold the Tigers to just 7 fourth-quarter points. And the difference showed in the final score with the Bulldogs first victory of the season BHS 26 – La Grande Tigers 7. The Bulldog’s first victory comes in front of hometown fans during the seasonal Homecoming festivities.
