Myasthenia gravis, a disorder that causes weakening in the skeletal muscles, and its associated health problems took his life on Friday at 3:45 a.m., while he was receiving hospice care at Jefferson-Methodist Hospital.
He is survived by his lifelong girlfriend Keely Stahl and his four daughters, as well as his grandkids and great-grandchildren. In Philadelphia, his funeral will take place in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on January 28.
