Through a picture published on her Instagram account on Friday, Missy Peregrym disclosed that she gave birth to a baby girl named Mela Josephine.

The 40-year-old artist shared a picture of her two-year-old son Otis cuddling up close to his newborn sister, who was born early on Wednesday.

In her opening remarks, Peregrym discussed the feelings she experienced during the delivery of Mela Josephine.

I felt fully seen and heard, as well as encouraged, thrilled, and cheered on. Lots of questions, emotions, and laughs,” she wrote.

The performer then admitted that she made the decision to give birth in the water, noting that it was a satisfying experience.

Usually, it’s all about the baby, but this time, I had the best possible care throughout the pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period. I am very appreciative that I was given the freedom to decide at every turn, as it allowed Mela to enter the world in the calmest, gentlest way possible, she said.

With her husband, Otis, and their infant daughter, Peregrym made a point of highlighting his devotion.

I can’t express how much Tom helped me out by taking care of things so that I could take care of what I needed to accomplish at the moment. Our path hasn’t been simple, but it has been full, and I feel tremendously lucky to have him as my partner,’ she said.

The actress then disclosed on Twitter that she will be taking a short break from acting to care for her child, writing: “@fbicbs is starting up again in a couple of weeks, but I will be returning to work in September.”

After Mela was born, Peregrym said she felt lucky to be able to take time off from her work obligations.

She expressed her relief and gratitude in her letter, saying, “I’m granted the space to bond with my family, to relax and heal, and to be a mother (which is tougher than a job!).

“I understand this is a luxury, and I wish every mother/parent/caretaker had this too,” the actress finished her essay.

In 2018, Peregrym and Oakley got married, and three years later, they welcomed Otis into their family.

The actress previously had a year-long marriage to Zachary Levi, which dissolved in 2015.

When she finally moved on with her current spouse, she made the announcement that she was expecting their second child in February of last year.
