Before working with the Cardinals, Jonathan Gannon was the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. While he was there, the team even made it to the Super Bowl. Gannon has also been an assistant coach for the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans, and Atlanta Falcons.
His coaching journey in the NFL began in 2007 with the Atlanta Falcons, where he was a defensive quality control coach. Later, the St. Louis Rams hired him as a college scout in 2009, and he moved up to a pro scout in 2010.
Gannon stayed with the Rams until the 2011 season, then joined the Tennessee Titans as a defensive quality control coach. In 2014, he went to the Minnesota Vikings, working as their assistant defensive back and defensive quality control coach.
In 2018, Gannon left the Vikings, and Frank Reich brought him to the Indianapolis Colts, where he worked with defensive backs and cornerbacks until 2020.
In 2021, Gannon became the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. He completed two seasons with them, leading the team to Super Bowl LVII. Unfortunately, the Eagles had a tough loss, falling 38-35 against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl.
