Is Murr Gay?
No, James “Murr ” Murray is not gay. The rumors about his sexuality started when Murray admitted that he was gay as a part of a prank as the entire world was watching on national television.
On a “Day Time Talk with Sally Jessy” show where all four comedians were present, his friend Sal Vulcano came out as gay. Murray was so affected by the confession that he quickly made the identical one.
In contrast, Sal tells a lie to persuade Murray to come out of the closet. Sal first denied having any interest in the subject, but when Jessy, the show’s host, enquired about their feelings on coming out, Sal changed his mind. He stated:
“It makes me feel great that my best friend James came out of the closet, that’s the reason I brought up here today. You see, I am not gay, but I knew if I said I was gay he would admit that he was gay.”
It seems the impractical jokers were indeed joking. All this confusion was caused by their misunderstandings of one another.
Nevertheless, all of these were jokes and pranks, for which The Tenderloins are renowned, as Murr later married his wife, dispelling all of the sexuality speculations.
