Kellyanne Conway and George Conway, her husband, said on Saturday that they are “in the final stages of a friendly divorce.” The statement says, “We appreciate the many family members, friends, and coworkers who know us, care about us, and support us.”
“As parents, we stick together to give our beautiful children love, joy, comfort, and safety.” George Conway’s public criticism of the Trump administration, while his wife worked for the president, brought attention to the couple’s tense relationship.
The couple had been married for more than twenty years, the statement said. The New York Post was the first to write about the split.
George Conway, a lawyer who was once considered for multiple jobs in the Trump administration’s Justice Department, was the one who told Kellyanne Conway to take the job of running Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 when Trump was still a candidate, she told sources in an interview last year.
She went on to become the first woman to win a presidential race as a campaign manager. Kellyanne Conway said in the 2022 sources interview that she and her husband had decided to move to Washington with their four children to work for the Trump administration.

However, once they got there, George Conway “changed his mind about Donald Trump somewhere along the way.” Later, George Conway joined the Lincoln Project, which was started by Republicans who didn’t like Trump.
He went on to become one of Trump’s harshest critics, which put a big rift in the couple’s marriage and made it public. “He could think differently about Donald Trump. This country is free. George owes no allegiance to a political party or a presidential candidate.
“I feel like he broke his promises to me, but we were all in,” Kellyanne Conway said in an interview with sources last year about her book “Here’s the Deal.”
