Kevin Conroy Identified as Gay Years Ago
Kevin was revealed to be gay in a 2016 interview with the New York Times.
He portrayed a TV producer who was privately living with AIDS in the late 1980s. At the time, he said to the publication: “I attended so many funerals that I felt such a feeling of responsibility to do it well. Every night, I would simply scream in agony. I was unable to feel it. Kevin kept his private affairs secret, and it wasn’t until after his passing that his marital status came to light.
Conroy is survived by his husband Vaughn C. Williams, sister Trisha Conroy, and brother Tom Conroy, according to a DC Comics statement regarding his passing. However, little is known about Kevin’s spouse or how they met.
In Finding Batman, he spoke on his early troubles with coming out as gay: “As a gay boy growing up in the 1950s and 1960s in a devoutly Catholic home, I’d grown adept at concealing parts of myself.

Fans and other musicians have paid respect to Kevin by sharing their memories of him and praising him as a wonderful person in addition to his exceptional talent.
