Even though his mom wasn’t part of the Mormon faith, she wanted her son to be raised by a family that was, as mentioned in Brigham Young University Magazine. He was adopted by a Mormon family who lived in California. His parents, Layne and Kelly Van Noy, raised him like he was their own.
Kyle went to Brigham Young University, which is a school connected to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he played football there. While he was in Utah, he met his future wife, Marissa, who was Miss Utah USA in 2013. Marissa also follows the Mormon faith.
In the 2014 NFL Draft, Kyle was chosen as the 40th overall pick by the Detroit Lions. He was later traded to the New England Patriots on October 25, 2016. He and his wife live a quiet life in Massachusetts. They don’t have any children together.

Kyle Van Noy met his future wife, Marissa Powell, while he was living in Utah. Marissa Powell used to be a beauty queen and represented Utah in the Miss USA pageant in 2013, where she came in third place.
During one of their early dates, Kyle told Marissa that he was adopted. She replied, “Oh, my dad and brother were adopted too.” This was something they both had in common and it brought them closer. They got married in 2014.
In the same year, they started a charity together called the Van Noy Valor Foundation. This organization’s goal is to make adoption more accepted and help with foster care and adoptions.
In 2019, they had their first child. Kyle was really happy and shared the news on Twitter:
