Alex “Technoblade,” told the gaming community his last words through his father in a video that was posted on YouTube soon after the 23-year-old Minecraft streamer’s tragic death. His father also said that they had planned to make a video with an official face reveal. But the plan never worked out because of problems with how to make it happen.
At the time of his death, Technoblade was living in San Francisco, California, and had been hiding his identity for a long time. His family used his YouTube channel to tell his fans his name. The tragic death of the 23-year-old was sad for everyone in the gaming and streaming communities.
The Reason Technoblade’s Official Face Reveal Did Not Happen
The Minecraft YouTuber, who has more than 13 million subscribers, revealed his real name for the first time in the video that was posted after he died. His father spoke for the 23-year-old gamer and said:
“Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you’re watching this, I’m dead. So let’s sit down and have one final chat. My real name is Alex. I had one of my siblings call me ‘Dave’ one time in a a deleted video from 2016. It was one of the most successful pranks we’ve ever done. Thousands of creepy online dudes trying to get overly-personal going, Oh, hey Dave. How’s it going?'”
In his message, Alex also said how thankful he was for all the help he had gotten over the years. In the end, he told everyone to have a good day. Alex’s father went on to say that his family had planned to make a video to show the Minecraft player’s face to the world.
At first, they wanted to film it in their own house while the streamer was still there, but his father said it was too late. They wanted to try it out while he was in the hospital, but his condition was getting worse, so they didn’t.
“We’ve been talking for a couple of months about Alex doing a final video, sometimes he called it a face reveal. We were gonna shoot it in his living room but we kind of waited too long…”

Then, Technoblade’s father said that they had to wait a little longer because Alex wanted to do things right but couldn’t concentrate:
“…Then we were going to shoot it from his bed. He wanted to have everything he wanted to say written down ahead of time and I think he was having a hard time focusing, you know with all the various things that were hooked up to him. He’s always been kind of particular about his environment.”
Even though he didn’t do an official face reveal on his own, his family did add some pictures of the streamer to the video. Some videos that have been put on YouTube over the years also show Technoblade’s face.
His face can be seen in the video for reaching 100,000 subscribers, the videos about cooking, and the stream of “playing Minecraft hardcore with a steering wheel.”
