Kanye West has agreed to purchase Parler, and George Farmer, the CEO of the conservative social media network, is publicly endorsing the deal while asserting that the platform “needs Ye,” according to the BBC.
After negotiating an agreement with Parlement Technologies, Kanye is extending his business empire into the tech sector by acquiring the social networking platform Parler. The rapper’s Twitter account was disabled earlier this month after complaints over a tweet that disregarded the rules of the social media site.
Ye, formerly known as West, has legally changed his name, and he is now taking matters into his own hands in an effort to secure free speech for his new company.
In a press release, West stated that “we have to make sure we have the freedom to openly express ourselves in a society when conservative beliefs are regarded to be controversial.”
George Farmer, the chief executive of Parler, is negotiating the agreement and stated that the platform “needs Ye.” Here is all the information we have on the British businessman.
Parler’s George Farmer Is Married to Candace Owens
A hedge fund professional with an education from Oxford University, George Farmer is roughly 31 years old, according to The Sun. His father, Michael Stahel Farmer, alias Baron Farmer, is a former Conservative Party treasurer and current member of the UK House of Lords. George has two younger brothers, and Jennifer Potts is his mother.
George studied theology, but it was evident that he had a political interest because, up until April 2019, he worked as chairman of the right-wing political movement Turning Point UK. The initial US section of the movement’s movement employed his future wife, Candace Owens, as its communications director until that same year.
The Parler CEO and author and political pundit Owens have been married since 2019. After meeting in December 2018, just 17 days later the couple got engaged. The farmer was interested in Owen’s Blexit campaign given his own engagement in Brexit, so they connected through Turning Point.
They are now parents to a son (born in January 2021) and a daughter after George proposed through FaceTime (born in July 2022).
Owens wore a blouse with Ye’s controversial White Lives Matter message at his Yeezy season 9 fashion show in early October, showing her support for the declaration.
Parler Was Launched in Nevada
Although John Matze Jr. and Jared Thomson co-founded Parler in Henderson, Nevada in 2018, George Farmer serves as the company’s chief executive. The platform was also co-founded and funded by American heiress Rebekah Mercer. The phrase “parler,” which means “to speak” in French, is where the company’s name originates.
Matze resigned from his position as CEO in 2021. According to a February 2021 Washington Post article, Mercer, 48, owned the majority of Parler and held two of the three board seats. We can thus presume that she is the owner
