It was a very tough choice, but Cristina and I have decided to divorce each other. While we sort things out internally, we’d appreciate your patience and understanding.” On the seventh anniversary of the vehicle accident that permanently disabled the future congressman, the couple tied the knot.

Madison and Cristina’s breakup comes as a result of a disagreement over why exactly they should
In 2021, Madison Cawthron announced to the world that he and Cristina were divorcing after only eight months of marriage.
The rising Republican identified “Irreconcilable Differences” as the basis for the breakup.
After his 2020 election to Congress, he declared, “Overnight, our lives transformed.” The transition has been stressful and challenging; this is not the new normal that we had anticipated.
He continued, “From the start, we pledged to make things work, to fight for our marriage, and to seek assistance for balancing the magnitude of such a transformation in our lives.
We came to the conclusion that harmony was impossible to achieve, and that our differences were insurmountable, as a group.
