The Wayans Brothers, the creators of the franchise, made their final contributions to Scary Movie 2, earning it second place. When the brothers couldn’t come to an agreement, The Weinstein Company ultimately had to drive them out. “[The Weinsteins] are not the best or the kindest people to be in business with,” actor Marlon Wayans remarked in a statement to Variety.
They definitely represent an evil regime, I suppose. They act in a harsh and discourteous manner, doing what they want to do in their own way. The deal was impossible for us to agree upon. If you don’t want to pay for the jokes, have someone else tell them, that is how it goes.
