twilight series in order

The first Twilight picture was released in 2008, and the last film in the Twilight Saga was released in 2012. It has been ten years since we last saw a Twilight movie in theatres. The YA paranormal romance franchise, which is based on Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling book series, was a major success and propelled Meyer and its stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to new heights of fame.

The five-film series brought Meyer’s world of glittering vampires to the big screen, and the author’s original perspective on vampires marked a considerable change from how they are typically portrayed. With one little exception, however—there are only four novels in the book series, although there are five total films—watching the movies in order is quite simple.

The last novel, Breaking Dawn, is so dense that it had to be split into two movies — a trend that would later be adopted by series like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games — therefore the extra installment was required.

The Twilight franchise is once again being appreciated, so it’s time to revisit the films and begin before Bella and Edward ever met. Book enthusiasts will be aware that Meyer’s Midnight Sun, a retelling of the Twilight saga from Edward Cullen’s perspective, is not included in the five films mentioned above.

Even though it’s doubtful (at least until the series is relaunched again) that a Midnight Sun movie will ever be produced, there are other perspectives to explore besides Edward’s.

Since the protagonists in the novel are vampires, there is a tonne of interesting backstories to delve into the outside of Forks. A miniseries on the Cullens, a look at the Volturi and the darkest aspects of vampire culture, or even a flashback to Renesmee as an adult could be intriguing.

The list below will help you stay on track and follow this magical love tale as it develops, whether you are watching the epic drama of Bella and Edward for the first time or if you want to rewatch it.
