Kodak Black wrote a touching post about the death of XXXTentacion. On March 3, Kodak Black posted a thoughtful tribute to his late friend and frequent collaborator XXXTentacion on Instagram.
In a short, simple, but emotional message to his fellow Broward County, Florida native, Kodak Black talks about how X changed both hip-hop and the community around their respective hometowns of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Kodak starts the post with “Nothing really” and a close-up photo of X. “I was just thinking about you, bro [XXXTentacion]. Dam Broward County We Lost a Legend. @xxxtentacion is one of the best things that have ever happened in my small town. The next post is about this young boy who reminds me a little bit of Jah.”
Kodak Black shared an image of a musician named Bryant Barnes in the next slide of his Instagram post. The music of Bryant Barnes reminds the “Super Gremlin” rapper of his late friend XXXTentacion.
Bryant Barnes replied by thanking Kodak Black on the musician’s Instagram Story. He then paid his own respects to the late rapper XXXTentacion by calling him a “legend.”
Since XXXTentacion was killed in a tragic accident in 2018, Kodak Black has paid tribute to his “Roll in Peace” partner both on record and on social media. In September 2018, the rapper who sang “Calling My Spirit” said that he can talk to X from the other side.
“Rip XXX He Talks to Me,” Kodak Black wrote about XXXTentacion on Twitter.
In “Malcolm X.X.X.,” a song from Yak’s Dying to Live album, he compares XXXTentacion’s death to that of slain human rights activist el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, also known as Malcolm X. This is Kodak’s unique take on X’s death, which he shared in 2018.
