Rajkotupdates.News : Zydus Needle Free Corona Vaccine Zycov D!

Zydus Cadila announced on Wednesday that the federal government has begun receiving the needle-free anti-Covid vaccine ZyCoV-D.

“The company has begun supplying the Indian government with its Covid-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D from its newly commissioned, state-of-the-art Zydus Vaccine Technology Excellence Centre in the Zydus Biotech Park in Changodar, Ahmedabad,” the company said in a statement.

Last year, the government placed an order for 10 million doses of anti-Covid vaccine for the national immunization program. Additionally, the company plans to make the vaccine commercially available.

ZyCoV-D is the world’s first plasmid DNA vaccine. Tropis is a three-dose vaccine that is administered intradermally on days 0, 28, and 56 using the painless PharmaJet needle-free system.

The vaccine will be priced at $265 per dose, exclusive of GST, while the applicator will cost $93 per dose. The company announced that it has signed a contract with contract manufacturer Shilpa Medicare Limited to produce ZyCoV-D dosages. In addition, the company has a manufacturing license and technology transfer agreement with Enzychem Lifesciences of the Republic of Korea.

“Zydus VTEC produces the active pharmaceutical constituent for the DNA Plasmid needle-free vaccine, ZyCoV-D. “Both the production process and material transfers are automated within the facility,” Zydus said in a statement.

The national medicines regulator authorized the vaccine for restricted use in emergency situations for those over the age of twelve. Prior to this, the company disclosed that its monthly production capacity would range from 10 to 12 million dosages.

The Union Ministry of Health has stated that the Zydus vaccine will initially be administered in districts with limited coverage in Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The vaccine will eventually be administered nationwide.
