The new social networking app Gas is the most popular free social media app on the Apple App Store, yet Android users cannot find it on Google Play.

Android users could momentarily miss out on the excitement, however, tech website Dealex reports that the Gas App should soon be downloadable on Google Play.

Here is what we currently know about the app coming to Android, despite the fact that it is very new and the developers have not provided details.

What Is Gas App?

Gas is the newest social media app targeted largely at teenagers and was named “The hottest app right now” by the Wall Street Journal.

Although just 12 states presently provide anonymous question-and-answer software for download, that number is anticipated to rise as server capacity increases.

The software is designed to be private and promotes communication between small social groups. You can choose your school and create a friends list of your classmates when you sign up for Gas.

Users post poll-style queries on their websites, such as “Who is most likely to dress up as the poop emoji for Halloween? concerning their classmates.

The app doesn’t have a direct texting feature, and according to its website, Gas’s goal is to build a space that improves our self-esteem.

Gas App on Android

The August 2022 release of the Gas social media app saw its initial release for Android, but it was afterward taken down from the Android App Store.

The developers of Gas have reportedly stated that the app is still in its beta stage, which explains why it is only accessible in 12 states and on the Apple App store, according to Deasilex.

According to reports, the app developers have pledged to immediately address all faults and add new features.

By the end of the year, the Gas app will reportedly be released on Android, so the wait won’t be too lengthy.

A Move Towards Real and Positive Social Media

Gas takes after other recent apps that have gained traction with Generation Z, such as Be Real (the app which asks you to take a photo of yourself once a day within a two-minute period.)

In 2017, Nikita Bier, one of the Gas creators, released an app with a similar name, called tbh. Additionally designed for high school kids, the app-enabled friends to anonymously congratulate one another.

Facebook purchased the app, however, it was later removed because of “poor usage.”

However, there is little doubt that demand has changed recently. Users of social media appear to want more welcoming online communities in 2022 where they may communicate with friends.
