The largest gathering in the world to honor digital and online entertainment makers has returned and has improved.
Taking place from June 22 to June 25, 2022, VidCon US will make its first trip back to the Anaheim Convention Center in California in 2019. The most recent VidCon celebration, which drew 75,000 visitors and more than 120 brand exhibitors, took place in July 2019 and marked the event’s tenth anniversary.
With weekly programming for its international fan base, VidCon launched VidCon Now in 2020. It is a continuous, free digital service.
With events scheduled in Mexico City, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore to go along with its international events in Australia and London, VidCon’s audience is expanding internationally on a regular basis. For the most immersive experience possible, attendees will come from all over, making this year’s event unquestionably bigger than previous ones.
The chance to network with prominent businesses, YouTube stars, and featured guests will be available to content producers, brands, and marketers. They will also be able to showcase the most recent developments in experience marketing. FGPG delves into this year’s event and VidCon US 2022 to give you a preview.
The Growth of VidCon US 2022, & Partnership With YouTube
A little more than 1,400 people attended the first Vidcon, which was held just over ten years ago on July 9–11 in Los Angeles, California. The event was sold out in advance. Hank Green of VlogBrother, who organized the first VidCon in 2010, did so. At the time, more than 1,400 people attended the event, which was held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
Today, Viacom owns Vidcon and has expanded its live events business beyond TV content to next-generation entertainment platforms. When John and Hank Green founded the company and were seasoned YouTube creators, their primary concern was paying expenses.
By 2018, VidCon had become more well-known and was bought by Viacom, the company that also owns Paramount Pictures and Viacom Media Networks. Along with VidCon CEO Jim Louderback, Hank Green is still actively participating. More than 75,000 people showed up at the most recent VidCon event in July 2019.
However, on August 20, 2021, VidCon declared the cancellation of its event for 2021 “because of the recent rises in COVID-19 instances and increasing health and safety standards” and set the date of its subsequent event for June 22–25, 2022, with the first day of attendance this week.
The celebs you can expect to see at the show and the newest sponsors were both revealed by Vidcon. For this year’s VidCon 2022, here are a few interesting teasers and a schedule.

Sponsors and Stars – TikTok, YouTube, SZA, and the Best Content Creators
YouTube was a strong supporter of VidCon when it initially launched in 2010, and since 2013, YouTube has been the event’s primary sponsor. But as the new title sponsor for VidCon US 2022 this year, TikTok—which is closely related to and influenced by YouTubers and media influencers—will be making its debut. What does the new sponsorship, however, actually entail for both parties?
According to the terms of the sponsorship deal, TikTok will deliver the keynote, send executives and artists to participate in each of VidCon’s three tracks, and sponsor a few stages in the expo hall.
Head of content partnerships at TikTok, Bryan Thoensen, stated, “At TikTok, we’re excited to expand upon our connection with VidCon, where helping creators learn, cooperate, and elevate is at the core of our common goal.”
