On Monday, December 12, Miguel Almaguer, who had been gone from NBC since his Paul Pelosi story, made a comeback with a weather report.

Miguel Almaguer, a regular on The Today Show, has rejoined NBC News after a sabbatical of more than five weeks. His final appearance was on November 4; that same day, his report on Paul Pelosi was aired.

The 45-year-old Almaguer indicated Nancy Pelosi could not have been in immediate danger when police were called to the house he lives with Pelosi.

Although NBC never made a public announcement about the journalist’s hiatus, The Daily Beast stated he had been suspended. The website had his report erased.

Miguel Almaguer Returns to NBC with A Weather Report

For his Monday return to Today, Almaguer bravely descended into the snow-covered Sierra Nevada. Although the California native had to report on “coast-to-coast” winter storms in subfreezing conditions, he was warmly embraced online by viewers.

NBC broadcast the tape but made no notice of his puzzling absence. Almaguer also hasn’t offered any commentary on the predicament.

According to social media posts, he had a great time traveling to Paris and Barcelona. He’s returned! Hello, Miguel,” a supporter wrote. Another jokingly said, “Welcome back to NBC! We have missed you! When they suspended you, I definitely hope they paid you, lol.

One person expressed outrage that the well-known reporter was led to the snowy locations, saying, “You guys owe Miguel Almaguer a massive apology.”

Almaguer’s Pelosi Report Retracted Due to “Standards”

When Almaguer said Nancy Pelosi’s husband was not in danger when cops arrived at their San Francisco home, the on-air report quickly went viral.

“Mr. Pelosi opened the front door following a ‘knock and announce. The 82-year-old started moving a few feet back into the foyer toward the attacker and away from the police instead of immediately declaring an emergency or attempting to flee his house, according to the broadcast.

According to insiders, “it’s unclear whether the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was.”

Fox News quotes NBC as saying that Almaguer’s source was “biassed,” although the network never provided any additional information. In place of the video, they added, “This article has been pulled from publication because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards.”
