Professional Career of Lil Dicky
Before venturing into music, Lil Dicky began his career as a record executive, but his love for music dates back to his youth, when he listened to elective stone and hip-hop. In fifth grade, he rapped competently.
His underlying motivation to venture into rap was to gain notoriety and a few jobs to compose Network programs and even demonstrations, but he was soon guided into the game. His debut mixtape, titled So Hard, was released in 2011; he had worked on it since 2009.
The video for one of his songs from the mixtape “Ex” garnered over one million views in a single day, catapulting him into the public eye.
He wanted to pursue rapping as a full-time occupation but lacked the funds to produce more music, go on tours, and release more recordings. As a result, he decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds and raised $113, 000, surpassing his goal of $70,000.
Beginning today, he has released one studio album titled Proficient Rapper, which has been certified Gold and debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, as well as one EP titled I’m Mind.
